Director's Message
Dear QSI Community,
Many of you know Dr. Wilfred Bock has been promoted to Director of QSI International School of Dongguan in China for the next school year. We wish him and his family joy, peace, and success on the next leg of their journey. Dr. Bock has brought so much vision and energy to our school. He and his family have made QSI International School of Astana better. Thank you, Bocks! Our year with them is not over yet, and there is still a lot to be done.
Dr. Bock's successor has been named. Mr. Christopher Konitz will join the QSI Astana community in August as our next Director of Instruction. We are looking forward to the contributions he will make to our school. Please read his short introduction.
The future of QSI Astana is bright and hopeful. Thank you all for journeying with us.
Have a great day!

Meet next year's Director of Instruction
"Thank you QSI and the QSI International School Community of Astana for the chance to be of service. As your new Director of Instruction for the 2023-2024 academic year, I am honored, energized, and eager to jump right in and get to know each and every member of the Astana family.
As a purposeful agent of change throughout my career, I have been fortunate enough to perform in critical positions of service and leadership. Leadership starts with listening, learning, and discerning- how or where one will serve. Service for me has meant many different viewpoints and experiences such as; coaching, teaching, Guidance Counselor, School Psychologist, Chair of Special Education, Director of Counseling, Head of Department[s], and Vice Principal. Whether it was America, Thailand, China, or most recently, Africa, service has allowed me to make my mark with earnestly earned tools acquired within a tool belt of immediately deployable knowledge and skills.
Over almost three decades of experience in schools and/or education and with consistent, persistent, dedication and application of focused energy —I have been fortunate enough to positively steer individual lives and collective futures. Futures, a succinct word that lies at the end of tasks, goals, targets, benchmarks, and dreams. Dreaming big plants the seeds of leadership and winning, while listening and learning carefully cultivates the crops of the future.
QSI Astana family, I solemnly make this promise to each and every member of the school community–I will strive to remove the barriers to your success so that you can exceed your own expectations, continue to dream big, pursue, and expand your own tool belt to make your mark.
When we meet for the first time, you can expect a highly visible, collaborative, approachable, warm, and welcoming campus presence. Thank you again for this opportunity to serve. I look forward to meeting and learning about each and every one of you.
