Sara McKinley, a dedicated member of the Parent School Group (PSG) at QSI Astana, recently shared insights into her role and experiences in an interview for the Howling Wolf. 

 

Sara, who serves as the STUCO liaison for secondary, discussed her motivation for joining the PSG and her commitment to enhancing the secondary school experience for students. Having lived in multiple countries due to her husband's job, Sara brings a wealth of experience in navigating different cultures and communities. She recounted her involvement in successful projects such as supporting the secondary prom through fundraising efforts, securing photographers for prom and senior photos, supporting the senior class with designing and procuring their senior shirts (as well as anything else they have needed!) and helping with the Frozen musical earlier this year. She has also been an integral part of the school's new Spirit Wear designs... and so much more!

 

Sara's background as a teacher and her passion for working with kids drive her volunteer activities. She highlighted the importance of parent involvement in the secondary school and the positive impact it can have on students. Sara also shared her admiration for Astana as a beautiful and safe city with much to do and see.

 

Through her active participation in PSG and dedication to supporting the school community, Sara embodies the spirit of volunteerism and parental engagement. Beyond that, she is known for her cheerful demeanor and positive personality - you will always find her smiling! We feel so lucky to have her supporting our school and students!
