PSG Spotlight: Patricia Martin
Secretary of the Parent School Group (PSG), Patricia Martin, stands out as a dedicated member, driven by her love for her children and a passion for exploring the world. With two sons at our school, Anthony in the 10s and Ethan in the 12s, Patricia's PSG journey began when she moved to QSI. Her motivation was simple yet powerful: she wanted to be near her children, ensuring she could be there for them whenever they needed her.
As a PSG member, Patricia's creativity and commitment shine. She actively contributes as the PSG Secretary, from taking minutes at meetings to ensuring the smooth operation of PSG activities. Patricia's skills have proven invaluable in keeping the PSG's administrative tasks on track.
Patricia's love for travel, inspired by her husband, has taken her to various corners of the globe, from Bolivia to Uzbekistan and Niger to Uruguay, before landing in Kazakhstan. These experiences have given her a profound global perspective, enriching her understanding of different cultures and people.
In Patricia, PSG has found a member whose dedication to her children and her diverse life experiences have created a positive impact within the school community. Her story reminds us of the transformative power of parental involvement and the enriching influence of exploring the world, inspiring us to stay actively engaged in our children's education and embrace diverse experiences wherever they may be found.
Announcements!
Dear Astana Community, We are excited to announce that our first pack meeting took place on Sunday, October 8 at 6:30 p.m. at QSI International School of Astana at 17 Bayan-Sulu Street. We will be meeting regularly, and there is still time to join us. Our goal is to help your child develop character and leadership skills through challenging and fun activities in a safe environment. We are Cub Scout Pack 777. A Pack is made up of various dens. Each den is made up of Scouts who are the same grade level in school, from kindergarten to fifth grade. We will aim to hold one pack meeting per month and one den meeting per month. At pack meetings, we do fun activities such as campouts, bonfires, and the Pinewood Derby. At den meetings, the Scouts complete parent-led adventures on topics such as first aid, fitness, and citizenship. For each completed adventure the Scouts earn a belt loop or pin, ultimately earning their rank patches at the end of the school year. All of the information that the parents need to organize den meetings and complete adventures is in the handbook, which will be provided.
